HISTORY
Independence Physical Therapy opened for business September 5, 2005 in a space that used to be the town pharmacy in downtown Ledyard CT. We had one therapist and one administrative assistance to answer the phone and schedule patients. Through word of mouth, a bit of creative marketing and of course, great patient care, we have grown substantially and moved to our current site (many of you I'm SURE have fond memories of the TRAILER!) at Haley Brook Center on Route 184, Mystic. When I decided to go into business for myself, I was not sure if I would last the year. Through I had been a physical therapist over twenty years, business skills were new to me. But I was ready for a challenge and the time was right. With the love and wholehearted support of my family, I took the plunge and became a business woman. And... I haven't looked back! Independence Physical Therapy has grown to include five more therapists and nine support staff, three treatment rooms, a gym with all the latest rehab equipment (including "WII -HAB") and our Medically Oriented Gym program (MOG). Oh! And we can't forget Cassie the therapy dog! A fabulous team to work with and a team that works fabulously together!
MISSON
Our mission at Independence Physical Therapy is to improve the physical health and lifestyle choices of area residents by offering full range physical therapy services along with education and motivation for change; returning them to their optimal level of function and the quality of life they deserve.
