Kelly A. Perkins BS, LAT-C, CSCS

Kelly Perkins has more than 25 years of experience working as a licensed athletic trainer,
coach and certified strength and conditioning specialist. She has coached and rehabilitated athletes of all ages and abilities and prides herself in designing custom plans to guide them toward their unique athletic potential and highest quality of life. Success stories include All-American runners and cyclists, a World Class power-lifter and adventure racers, prima ballerinas and elite figure skaters as well as cardiac rehab and aging patients who now enjoy both improved physical function and satisfaction with life. Kelly earned National Scholar-Athlete awards in high school and college and her commitment to life-long learning enables her to take an innovative, holistic approach to working with each of her clients. She holds a bachelor's degree in Food Science and Nutrition and has logged hundreds of hours of continuing education in both sports psychology and advanced manual therapy. Besides working here at Independence Physical Therapy, Kelly also works for Saint Bernard School and the Bolshoi Russian-American Ballet. An accomplished athlete herself, Kelly earned All-American honors for distance running at Montville High School and has continued to compete to this day in ultramarathons around the country. Currently Kelly lives with her husband and 10 year old daughter near the beach in Waterford.
