Running Analysis

How you run matters, so run smart!

Every runner is unique. A thorough analysis of your body's motion while running can be a game-changer. It not only helps prevent injuries and pinpoint the root causes of existing ones but also reveals insights into your biomechanics, offering invaluable knowledge to enhance your performance.

Who would benefit from a Running Analysis?

Runners looking to enhance their running mechanics, boost performance, and prevent injuries.

Individuals recovering from injuries and planning to return to a sport, seeking to identify potential risk factors.

Injured individuals for whom a Running Analysis can be integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan.

What to expect during our Running Analysis?

During your appointment, our highly trained physical therapists will run a complete runner’s breakdown using Video Gait Analysis, Load Assessment, Foot Evaluation, and Movement Screen. We’ll even make shoe recommendations! Our hope is to make your running style more efficient with less muscle and joint pain to keep you running longer…and faster.

Step 1: Comprehensive Evaluation

In this initial phase, your physical therapist conducts a thorough assessment:

  • Exploration of your current concerns
  • Identification of factors that alleviate or exacerbate the issue
  • Inquiry into any prior or ongoing treatments
  • Discussion of athlete’s sport specific and/or related running goals

Step 2: Detailed Physical Examination

Following the evaluation, an extensive physical examination is undertaken:

  • Assessment of strength
  • Eva luation of endurance
  • Measurement of flexibility
  • Analysis of foot, knee, hip, and pelvis mechanics related to specific sport
  • Observation and scrutiny of your running style through gait analysis
  • Inspection of footwear and examination of any utilized orthoses
